September is National Preparedness Month! We encourage all Angelenos to prepare with a solid plan for this heat wave and the rest of the Heat Season, which ends in mid-November, as well as for possible disasters or emergencies near our homes, businesses, and communities. We all can use this opportunity to find ways to help others understand that preparing for extreme heat and disasters builds resilience and reduces risks to health and the environment. There are many ways to reduce risks from excessive pollution exposure exacerbated by heat, or by contamination, leaks, spills, hazardous materials, and other dangers.
